Sock It To Me, Baby!

Photobucket

This is one of those rare occasions when I cannot wait for the weekend to end.

No, I haven't lost my mind, but I think you'll get on board knowing that Monday, Sept. 20 is National Punch Day.

Bols Genever kicks things in high gear by teaming up with a number of bars around town to offer potently delicious punch bowl specials. Grab a crew and head to Sable Kitchen & Bar (6-8pm), Bar DeVille (8:30-10:30pm) or The Exchange (11pm-1am) for one of the deals.

Over at Violet Hour, you can get down with the latest seasonal offering, the Pimm's Cup Punch. Serving three to four friends, it's made with Pimm's #1, lemon, cucumber, mint and Lillet Blonde, a white-colored French apéritif made with wine and brandy.

And if you're rolling in the $$$ these days, you might want to take advantage of Rebar's $235 punch bowls on the mezzanine of the Trump hotel. Choose from Flor Blanco (white sangria, St. Germain and Grey Goose vodka mixed with fresh and fragrant fruits), Sparkling Peche Blanche (sparkling Domain de Canton and fresh white peaches) or Star Bright (blend of passion fruit, banana, Ketel One Citroen; topped with Prosecco). They all serve eight to 10 people.
