The Aviary must indeed be close to opening.

Just got word that Alinea owner/super chef Grant Achatz and Aviary chef Craig Schoettler have assembled the city's heaviest hitting mixologists tonight for a tasting of the line of cocktails set to be served at the swanky Warehouse District saloon.

First, Bradley Bolt, owner/mixologist at Bar DeVille, excitedly posted on Facebook that he was hitting up Alinea tonight, then we did some snooping around and found out what was going down.

Joining him are Todd Appel (Piranha Bros.), Lynn House (Blackbird), Daniel de Oliveira (Watershed), Josh Pearson (Sepia) and at least 30 more local bartenders who will participate in an Absolut "sensory analysis workshop" that will be followed by cocktails and dinner.

This is getting more exciting by the day!
