End Your Evening With A Sexy Nightcap

Photobucket

Soooo, you've already picked out an outfit, bought a gift, and made those Valentine's Day dinner reservations, but something's missing.

How about a change of venue after dinner . . . something a bit sexier to set the mood for things to come?!

Check these recommendations around town of where to enjoy the perfect little nightcap:

GOLD COAST

Dinner: Settle into the exotic French-Vietnamese atmosphere at Le Colonial or go for intimate Italian fare at Pane Caldo . . .

Drinks: Bernard's closes at 11pm, so you'll have to skedaddle over for a classic cocktail made in the Elysian's elegant lounge that's tucked away in a corner on the mezzanine. We suggest the timeless Aviator.

LINCOLN PARK

Dinner: There's a chance for romance in the heart of Lincoln Park Zoo at North Pond or get ready to melt into each other's eyes over Italian at Rose Angelis . . .

Drinks: More laid back than luxe, Ravens is a late-night institution with attitude. Have a beer or no-fuss drink, pick something smooth from the jukebox and get to smooching.

LINCOLN SQUARE/NORTH CENTER

Dinner: Chef-driven neighborhood faves Chalkboard and sola offer downscaled settings for those who don't want to get all dressed up . . .

Drinks: The minimalist Tiny Lounge can be best described as a solid couples cocktail bar, and you cannot go wrong with the boozy Espresso of vanilla vodka, Kahlua, Tia Maria and cream.

RIVER NORTH

Dinner: The whimsical flair continues at graham elliot, while around the corner, guests choose from the most extensive prosecco collection in the Midwest at Prosecco . . .

Drinks: Order the ultra-potent Caipirinhas at Nacional 27, then shake your groove thang on the dance floor to the Latin beat.

WEST TOWN

Dinner: Bring your best BYO game to the snug Butterfly Sushi or delight in the high-energy vibe of Las Palmas . . .

Drinks: They're always tinkering around with a new punch at the mixology-driven The Exchange, but they're usually so strong we wouldn't recommend drinking more than two glasses. The whiskey and sparkling wine cocktails are also a hit.
