It's Never Too Cold For Something Frosty!

Like most summer-focused spots, Black Dog Gelato is observing winter hours. For the next few months, it's only open noon-9pm Friday-Sunday.

But in the meantime, owner Jessica Oloroso has come up with a couple of creative ways to get her addictive, hand-crafted frosty treats to her fans on the regular.

This month, she's offering customers a chance to join the Gelato of the Month Delivery Service in which they can get two quarts of rotating flavors at their doorstep. Orders for the service can be placed until Dec. 23, and customers will get favorites like Goat Cheese Cashew Caramel and Malted Vanilla. It's $125 for the program, and you'll get the packages through May. Sounds like the perfect Xmas gift to me!

For those too impatient to wait for that package every month, she's doing hands-on classes at the Black Dog Gelato shop, beginning in January. Oloroso will teach students how to make gelato using a wide variety of sweet and savory ingredients on DeLonghi home gelato machines. Students will have the chance to design their own flavors and take a pint of it home. During the class there will be additional tastings and beverages. The next class is Jan. 19. It's $75.

For information about both programs, call the store.
