MANA Food Bar line cook Ashley Pruneau was brutally attacked with a hammer in her home earlier this month by an unknown assailant. The guy beat her around the head so badly that she required emergency surgery, but she's going to require another one. Add to that the mounting hospital bills, and she's in dire need of some assistance.

According to Eater Chicago, MANA's already set up a recovery fund, and now one of her former employers, Letizia's Fiore, is also pitching in.

The Logan Square bakery—where she made piadinas and breads—is hosting an event at 7pm July 31 for $15 per person. One hundred percent of the donations will benefit Pruneau's fund, which will help towards her recovery, medical bills, etc. (The restaurant is requesting that guests pay by check, made out to Ashley Pruneau).

Letizia's will provide wood-fired pizzas, beer and vino for attendees. There will also be a silent auction.

If you cannot make the event, you can still make a donation right here.
